FAQ | Will My Old Apple Watch Bands Fit the New Apple Watch Series 7?

Apple completely re-engineered the display on the Series 7 Apple Watch to create over 50% more screen area than Series 3 and 20% more than Series 6. So does that mean the watch itself is bigger, and your old bands won’t fit?

Prior to the Apple event, rumors suggested that the Series 7 would get a flat-edge redesign, making it no longer compatible with old bands. Fortunately, that is not the case. Apple barely expanded the dimensions of the watch itself by creating a wraparound effect and smooth edge design.

FAQ | Will My Old Apple Watch Bands Fit the New Apple Watch Series 7?

Apple COO Jeff Williams confirmed during the 2021 Keynote event that the new watch is compatible with all existing bands.

The Series 7 comes in two new sizes, which refer to the vertical case height: 41mm (smaller size) and 45mm (larger size).

Although the vertical case height has increased over the years, the width does not break band compatibility quite yet.

Along with the new and improved watch, Apple unveiled five all-new aluminum case colors: Midnight, Starlight, Green, New Blue, and (PRODUCT) RED.
